Remember the Instacube? It was a Kickstarter project for what is basically an Android powered Instagram linked digital picture frame. Built in WiFi, a 600×600 display, and the ability to randomly display images matching tags or users this fun little toy was asking $99 on Kickstarter for your own cube.
Their goal was $250k, and they surpassed that (which isn’t a surprise considering it was featured on Engadget) however they never actually made any. As of now they are claiming they have run into manufacturing issues and are seeking more investors, to the tune of $250,000 to $350,000 in development funds and $600,000 for the first round of production. They are also offering refunds for anybody who “bought” one from Kickstarter and has given up hope.
